Rustic lodging where wetlands stretch to the horizon and every dawn arrives without an alarm. No Wi-Fi. No rush. Just the kind of quiet that rewrites your sense of time.
Our Story
Whitetail Wetlands began as a single cabin — a place for the owner's family to escape the noise of the city and remember what silence sounds like. Decades later, that same philosophy guides everything we do.
Our property sits on hundreds of acres of restored wetland in the heart of Jefferson County. The cabins are positioned to frame the landscape, not compete with it. Every window looks out over something living — marsh grass, standing water, the occasional white-tail crossing the field at dusk.

Accommodations
Each cabin is a standalone structure with its own character, positioned for maximum privacy and minimum light pollution.
Cabin 1
Overlooks the main marsh basin. Floor-to-ceiling windows on the south face. King bed, full kitchen, wood-burning stove. Best for solo travelers or couples seeking total isolation.
Cabin 2
Tucked into a stand of white pine with a private hot tub on the deck. Two bedrooms, loft sleeping area. Ideal for small families or friends who want space between cots.
Cabin 3
Named for the creek that runs behind it. Water sounds all night. Quaint, compact, and impossible to beat for birdwatchers. Queen bed, compact kitchen, screened porch.
The Property
More than lodging.
It's an ecosystem.
Herons, egrets, wood ducks, and migratory species through spring and fall. Binoculars provided.
White-tailed deer, fox, beaver, and occasional bobcat. The wetlands are a sanctuary — we respect that.
Zero light pollution. The Milky Way is visible from the deck most clear-nights between October and March.
Miles of unmaintained trail through old-growth forest and along the creek. Boots recommended. Maps at check-in.
"We came for a weekend and stayed three nights. The silence here isn't empty — it's full of everything you've been ignoring."
